Abstract: This collection was taken from the Marjorie Barr O’Steen Collection (Accretion # 2010-033), and includes letters from several Bridges and Barr family members to one another and close friends. The bulk of the letters are from Annie (Ziah) R. Bridges to family and friends and to and from George T. and Mary (Mamie) Bridges Barr. The letters mostly document every-day activities and comment on the health of family and neighbors. There is a reference to the Civil War in the February 6, 1864, letter from Ziah to her Auntie (Folder 2). Mary and Laurie Copans transcribed most of the letters and bound them together in 1991.
