Thomas L. Johnson, a resident of Spartanburg, is an emeritus librarian of the University of South Carolina in Columbia where he also taught English. He has received numerous awards for his poetry and short fiction, as well as his photographic collections. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Hub City Writers Project and is also a lifetime member of the Board of Governors of South Carolina Academy of Authors which he has chaired several times. His newest poetry collection is titled "The Costume," which Ninety-Six Press published in 2010. Other published works include A True Likesness, which he co-edited with Phillip C. Dunn in 1986, and Camera Man's Journey published in 2002.
