Abstract: The majority of the collected papers of Oliver Hart are photocopies of diaries, correspondences, and engagement lists from his time as pastor of the Charleston Baptist Church. There are nine binders containing these photocopies, as well as one folder. There are several folders containing original diaries from 1754 and correspondences with Richard Furman from 1784-1794. Additionally there is an entire box of secondary sources, namely biographies, family trees, and photographs of Rev. Hart’s headstone and gravesite. The majority of Rev. Hart’s papers are located at the South Caroliniana Library in Columbia, South Carolina. These particular papers were donated to Furman University in 1970.
