Abstract: This collection includes sermons written by John Hugh Dargan between 1872 and 1877, as well as his lecture notes from his time at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. The baptismal robe also belonged to John H. Dargan and was made by his mother. The collection also houses correspondence from John Orr Beasley Dargan written between 1832 and 1878. The vast majority of the letters are to James C. Furman and discuss personal, ministerial, and South Carolina Baptist Convention matters.
