Provenance: Given to Special Collections and Archives on indefinite loan by J.C. Bailey, Jr. in April 1976. J.C. Bailey, Jr. inherited the collection from his grandfather, Rev. J.D. Bailey. The tune book belonged to his great great-grandmother, Elizabeth R. Adams, and had been passed down through the family from Janetta Adams Bailey, mother of J.D. Bailey.

Scope and Content: The J.C. Bailey, Jr. Collection consists of three publications by Rev. J.D. Bailey, a handwritten tune book manuscript, Baptist Association Minutes, a handwritten scripture journal, and three individual pages of scripture notes.
The manuscript tune book by William Walker (May 6, 1809-September 24, 1875), ca. 1832-1833 is handwritten and bound in a homemade cloth cover.
