Who We Are
Our materials are maintained separately from the general library collections due to their uniqueness, fragility, significance and format. With the exception of the book collections, these materials are organized, maintained and accessed differently from other library materials. To learn more about our collections and history, visit About Us.
Planning a Visit?

Please drop by to see our latest exhibition or to peruse the yearbooks in the Simms Research Room. If you are planning to do research, please call us at (864) 294-2194 or e-mail Special Collections. We are a small department and we want to ensure that we have the materials you need waiting for you! Please note that Visitor Parking permits are now required.

Please see Introduction to Special Collections and Archives which includes location and hours, an explanation of primary and secondary sources, guidance for citing archival and manuscript sources, deciphering handwriting, and more.

Who We Serve
We are part of a private, liberal arts university, so we serve the students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Furman University; we also offer access and assistance to the general public.
