Born July 20, 1933, Warren Slesinger currently resides on the South Carolina coast and teaches poetry, fiction and nature writing at the University of South Carolina-Beaufort. In 1985, he founded The Bench Press, a publisher of poetry, fiction, and non-fiction works. He has been a finalist in the Lamont Poetry Contest and was awarded the South Carolina Poetry Fellowship in 2003. His publications include Warren Slesinger Greatest Hits, With Some Justification, Poems for a Beach House, Poems for the Mountains, A Word For It, and Spreading the Word: Editors on Poetry.
