Historical Abstracts Covers the history of the world (excluding the United States and Canada), featuring coverage of academic historical journals in over 40 languages since 1955.
Biographical Information Use these databases to find information on the authors of historical works.
Humanities Abstracts Humanities Abstracts indexes about 400 English language journals in a wide variety of subjects including history. Articles from about 100 of the journals are available in full text. Indexing goes back to 1984.
Humanities and Social Sciences Retrospective Indexes nearly 1,200 periodicals, as far back as 1907. Citations to more than 1,300,000 articles, including over 240,000 book reviews. Indexes scholarly journals published throughout the 20th century in North America and Europe. In addition to coverage of the humanities and social sciences, the database covers many scientific journals through the 1950's.
JSTOR
JSTOR is a full-text database of major scholarly journals going back their first issues, some of which appeared in the 19th century.
Washington Post Historical: 1877-1988 Full-image of all articles including ads found in the Washington Post form 1877-1988.
New York Times Historical: 1851-1999 This database includes the full image of all articles from the entire historical run of the New York Times from 1851 to 1999.
Bibliography of Asian Studies Full content of the whole twenty years of the annual printed Bibliography of Asian Studies (from 1971–1991), plus citations for articles from 1992 to the present in more than 100 journals in the field of Asian studies.


 
The Furman Libraries have numerous videos on topics related to History. These videos and other media are listed in ALCUIN (Library’s Online Catalog.) After doing a subject or keyword search in ALCUIN choose the "Sort/Limit" option and then limit by type (video, sound recording, etc) or location (media collection.)
