Books
To find books on your topic, search ALCUIN, the Library's online catalog, by subject or keyword. ALCUIN supports most of the standard searching techniques we discussed in class, including Boolean Operators (AND, OR), Nesting (using parentheses), and Truncation (using the asterisk *). You might, for example, want to do a keyword search such as the following:

Indentity AND ( rac* or gender or sexuality)

To find books of criticism on a particular author's work, do a subject search for the author's name (inverted) and look for the subheading "criticism and interpretation." The entry for Zora Neale Hurston, for example, is

Hurston, Zora Neale -- Criticism and interpretation
