| To
find books on your topic, search ALCUIN,
the Library's online catalog, by subject or keyword. ALCUIN supports most
of the standard searching techniques we discussed in class, including
Boolean Operators (AND, OR), Nesting (using parentheses), and Truncation
(using the asterisk *). You might, for example, might want to do a keyword
search such as the following: Rear Window AND ( voyeur* or exhibition* or observ* or view* or surveillance ) To find books of criticism on a particular author's work, do a subject search for the author's name (inverted) and look for the subheading "criticism and interpretation." The entry for Alfred Hitchcock, for example, is Hitchcock Alfred, 1899-1980 -- Criticism And Interpretation |
