ACM Guide to Computing Literature
Reference QA76.76 .A25
This source indexes literature in the field of computing including conference proceeding and reports, periodicals, and book. There is a subject index, author index, source index, and a proper name index. The library has from 1977 to 1997. There is an electronic version called E-Guide (see Online Databases).



Articles
ACM Digital Library Citations and full text of journals, magazines, transactions, proceedings and newsletters from the Association for Computing Machinery. Full text coverage as far back as 1954 for some titles.
Computer Source Computer Source provides researchers with the latest information and current trends in high technology. This database offers full text for more than 300 publications, covering topics such as computer science, programming, artificial intelligence, cybernetics, information systems, robotics, and software. In addition, this database offers indexing and abstracts for nearly 450 publications.
MathSciNet Produced by the American Mathematical Society, this database indexes books, periodical and proceedings back to 1940. The library has the paper version, also back to 1940. The online version is much easier to use.
General Science Abstracts and Full-Text General Science indexes 167 popular science periodicals and the Science section of the New York Times. Designed specifically for students and non-specialists, the periodicals covered range from very general to highly specialized. 40 of the 167 journals are available full-text. Coverage is from 1984 to the present.
Access Science
(online science and technology encyclopedia)
Access Science is an online encyclopedia of science and technology. It included over 7000 articles, 100,000 definitions and 2000 in depth biographies. It also offers weekly updates on scientific events, discoveries and breakthroughs, plus links to quality web sites.
Expanded Academic Expanded Academic indexes general interest magazines, journals and newspapers and covers a wide variety of topics. It is a good place to start is you want to find out how your topic is being discussed in the general media.
E-Guide: ACM Guide to Computing Literature
Reference CD-ROM
This CD-ROM database indexes literature in the field of computing including conference proceeding and reports, periodicals, and book. It is searchable by subject, author, source, etc. This source is also searchable by ACM classification scheme (ie. information systems, computing methodology etc.) The CD-ROM covers 1977 to 1997.

Guide to Computer Science Internet Resources This site is actually an "article" from the online journal Issues in Science & Technology Librarianship. This "article" divides the resources it points to into categories such as: associations, facts & figures, programming languages, algorithms etc. This is a good place to start computer science related research on the Internet.
Artificial Intelligence Resources This site is produced and maintained by the National Research Council of Canada. It offers links to newsgroups, bibliographies, online journals, conferences, companies, and organizations in the field of AI. Especially useful is the Subject Index.
CMU Artificial Intelligence Repository This site was established by Mark Kantrowitz of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science. It offers links to online journals, newsgroups, and organizations in the field of AI.
