Access Science is an online encyclopedia of science and technology. It included over 7000 articles, 100,000 definitions and 2000 in depth biographies. It also offers weekly updates on scientific events, discoveries and breakthroughs, plus links to quality web sites.



 
Articles
MathSciNet Produced by the American Mathematical Society, this database indexes books, periodical and proceedings back to 1940. The library has the paper version, also back to 1940. The online version is much easier to use.
General Science Abstracts and Full-Text General Science indexes 167 popular science periodicals and the Science section of the New York Times. Designed specifically for students and non-specialists, the periodicals covered range from very general to highly specialized. 40 of the 167 journals are available full-text. Coverage is from 1984 to the present.
Expanded Academic Expanded Academic indexes general interest magazines, journals and newspapers and covers a wide variety of topics. It is a good place to start is you want to find out how your topic is being discussed in the general media.
Factiva Access to more than 6,000 business, trade, and general publications and services, including same-day, full-text access to The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Financial Times, Los Angeles times and the Washington Post. Company and industry comparisons.
