Library News for Winter 2004

Library to Extend Exam Hours for Winter Term

During winter term exams the James B. Duke Library will stay open until 2:00 am the nights before exams and until 10:00 pm on Saturday night. The number of students studying in the library during fall term exams increased significantly over previous years, probably as a result of the library expansion project. By next fall the library's 24 hour study area will be open for late night studying. Check the library hours page for a complete schedule.

CCLC Moves to Riley Hall

The Center for Collaborative Learning and Communication has temporarily moved to Riley Hall, where it will be located until June. The move will allow renovation of the space formerly occupied by the CCLC on the ground floor of the James B. Duke Library. The CCLC will be moving back to the library when its new space is completed this summer.

Construction to be Completed this Summer

The expansion and renovation of the James B. Duke Library is scheduled for completion during summer 2004. The original library building and the main library entrance may reopen as early as June. By the beginning of fall term all library collections, services, and offices should be moved into their permanent locations. News, photos, and other information about current construction is available on the Construction Information page. Details about the finished project, including floorplans and drawings, are available on the Library Building Project page.
