Richard from Triangle Construction uses a 'bobcat' to clear debris from the main floor of the old building

Now that very little remains in the old building, one can get a better idea of how spacious the main floor is

By this point, Triangle Construction has completely taken over the old building and workers are focusing on demolition

From atop the mezzanine, you can see most of the main floor

View of part of the main floor from inside the 'bobcat'

Debris litters the floor as the old soffits are being removed

After many years, the original brick chimney has finally been uncovered

Looking up from the base of the forklift, you can see through the two access holes

The old metal shelving has been broken down and will be reused in Greenville County public schools

The railing has been completely removed from the mezzanine

Workers demolish the walls of the small study rooms

The remnants of the study room walls cover the floor

The study rooms below the mezzanine are now completely gone

Most of the area that was known as 'the cage' has been taken down to clear the way for removal of debris from the main floor

Near the cage area, a large hole has been knocked out of one of the walls of the old Acquisitions office to allow heavy equipment to pass through

The path cleared through 'the cage' and Acquisitions leads to an exit on one side of the old building where large dumpsters have been set up

The fountains in front of the Library can be seen above the other dumpster

By early October, the interior walls of the main office area had been removed

This is all that is left of the Library Director's office

On the second floor, all the shelves have been removed with only a maze of support columns remaining

The third floor, which will be taken out, is almost completely empty

Back on the main floor, new construction has begun even as the demolition continues
