Protective coverings have been draped across the outside of the reading bays until all the windows are installed

All the windows on the north side are now in place

Construction workers use scissor lifts to get to the top of the upper level reading bay

Electrical wiring hangs from the four corners of the atrium window where suspended lighting will be installed

A worker lays carpet in the new wing

The installation of carpet, ceiling tiles, and lighting gives the upper floor a much more finished appearance

Workers put the finishing touches on sheetrock before it will be painted

Compact shelving has been installed on the lower level to accommodate the bound periodicals collection after it has been moved

All of the compact shelving units will eventually have end panels such as those seen in this picture to the right

Cable trays are used under the raised flooring to allow for the orderly routing of network cabling

Dr. Janis Bandelin, Director of Libraries, leads a group of library faculty and staff on the final hardhat tour before occupancy of the new wing
