Searching for musical scores and recordings can be tricky because the online
catalog does not always allow you to find the things you think you should be able to find.
We might normally think to search using keywords for the composer and title, but our online
catalog doesn't think to look for things that way. This quick guide to searching will show
you how to find the works you want, whether a score or recording.
Do not worry about finding the online catalog right now. We will figure out how to use it,
then at the end of our tutorial, I will show you how to find the catalog.
There are three important things to know about this tutorial:
- I will give you information in the top of the screen, and you can search the catalog
in the bottom of the screen.
- You should read what is in the top, do that action in the bottom screen, then click on
"I did it" back at the top. If you do not follow this order, you'll get confused.
- You can hit the panic button in the top any time you get lost. This will return you to
the beginning of the lesson.
