During the 2007-2008 academic year the Libraries: Held over 500,000 volumes in the collection Added over 20,000 new items to the collection Housed over 9,000 music, video, and multimedia items Subscribed to 1,400 periodicals in print and provided access to 20,000 online Provided access to over 100 research databases Provided 150 computers in the Libraries and adjoining labs Spent $1,58M on books, journals, databases, and other resources In the 2007-2008 academic year students, faculty, and others: Visited the main library over 400,000 times Checked out 49,300 books and other items Asked over 6,500 reference questions Attended library instruction classes 3000 times in 151 sessions Library personnel include: 14 professional librarians 16 support staff 60 student assistants |
